Having health problems for over 25 years as definitely changed how I live and what I choose for my life. God has brought me through some tough situations with my health and has taught me so much about my belief system and lifestyle choices. One of the choices I made and continue to make is to choose organic bedding and bath options whenever possible. The organic cotton is grown using non-GMO plants which means we are not only protecting our soil, but the future crops and our own health. The pesticides used in conventional farms are not only harmful to us, the end consumer, but they are also harmful to the farmers tending the land. Pesticides can weigh down our liver processes, which can lead to imbalances in our body systems such as the hormonal or endocrine imbalances. In addition to pesticides, chemical dyes use in the processing of fabric items can also be harmful. Not only to us, but to the waterways on our planet. As the end consumer using these products, it is comforting to know that I won’t be breathing in any outgassing fumes from dyes or chemicals used in the processing of these items. I also love to support small artisan, USA made, and sustainable companies.
I have found some amazing organic bedding and bath companies that I love and have seen grow so much over the past several years in their efforts to support sustainability and a produce healthy end product for the consumer.
Pact Organic – www.wearpact.com
Pact has come so far. I have watched them create a great clothing line, baby line, and then bed and bath line. Their products are soft and wash well. I especially love their towels and sheets. They are resonably priced, but I like to wait for a sale which they have quite often.
Boll and Branch – www.bollandbranch.com
I can’t say enough amazing things about Boll and Branch. I had been searching for many years for organic bedding and towels. I just wanted to be able to climb into a fluffy cloud for a bed, and that is what I got. Their sheets are amazingly soft and comfortable and come in a variety of colors. I purchased a mattress pad which is super thick and luxurious. And I purchased the blanket in a few colors. The best thing about the thermal blanket is that while its thin and lightweight, it is also warm on chilly summer nights. I also purchased the down alternative duvet. The duvet is amazing, it so incredibly lightweight and airy, but is warm at the same time. There is nothing worse than a heavy duvet.
Pottery Barn – www.potterybarn.com
I have purchased a few of the Pottery Barn Bath mats and they look so stunning in my bathroom! More than that, they are soft under my feet.
